Black Agate

A striking gemstone with inner fire and brilliance, Black Agate radiates deep from within its black appearance.

Caroline says

Like the little black dress, every woman needs a piece of Black Agate jewellery in their wardrobe – I have a Black Agate ring that I pop on, on those inevitable days when you just don’t know what to wear; it never fails to add a little glamour and sparkle and always looks so elegant.

Country of origin

Agate can be found all over the world, but the main sources of gem-quality material come from Brazil. It can also be found in the United States, Australia, Italy, and also a very small supply from Madagascar.

Myth & Folklore

Myths and legends suggest that when a person wears Agate, they become more pleasant and agreeable. It is believed to quench thirst, protect against viruses (including fever) and to cure insomnia.
